When you see someone and they call you the wrong name, do you tell them the right one? When someone is calling out to you but is using the wrong name, do you respond? What if you were a doctor but everytime someone saw you they called you lawyer, completely disregarding your name and proper title. How about if everytime people talked to you, they called you by your worst adversaries name. How would you feel about that?
Hebrew Names all have meanings! Their names define their character, who they are, and what they represent. This is why YAH changed Abrams name to Abraham, when He chose him to be the, "Father of many nations". It's also why He changed Sarai to Sarah, Jacob to Yasharal (Yisrael), and why He Commanded Mary to Name the Messiah, YAHUSHUA. Going through Scripture, we see that names are very important to not only YAH but to His people as well.
The Most High told Moses in Exodus 3:15, that His Name is 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 FOREVER and that this is how He is to be REMEMBERED for ALL GENERATIONS! Exodus 6:2-3 tells us this is what Abraham called Him and Hosea 12:5 tells us again this is how He should be remembered! In the oldest manuscripts we have (The Dead Sea Scrolls), the Father's Name is written, "𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄." It has been replaced by "Lord," in most English translations. The pagan title "lord," is the English translation of ba'al, a deity who the Israelites were punished many times for worshipping. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 tells us of the day when His people will no longer call Him by these pagan titles in Hosea 2:16-17. He tells us He is against those who have tried to make people forget His Name for these pagan titles, and they will receive an everlasting reproach (Jeremiah 23).
The 3rd Commandment tells us, "You do not bring the Name of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Aluhym to naught." This means do not misuse it, disrespect it, or make it worthless. When we refuse to use or acknowledge it, we are breaking this Commandment! Isaiah 52:6 says: "My people will know My Name!" Verses like these should make us realize how important it is to address the Most High properly. His Name is the MOST talked about thing in Scripture. It is very important to Him and should be very important to us.
All through the book of Psalms, we are told to praise His Name, exalt His Name, bless His Name, revere His Name, remember His Name, love His Name, esteem His Name, declare His Name, boast in His Name, give thanks to His Name, seek His Name and call upon It. Malaki 3:16-18 says, "There is a book of remembrance for those who think upon His Name" and that, "They will be a treasured possession." I mean, who doesn't want to be a treasured possession of the Most High!?
In the Dead Sea Scrolls - the oldest Hebrew manuscripts available - the Father's Name is written 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, in Paleo-Hebrew and יהוה in
